Randwick Barracks Q-Store Refurbishment

Client: Randwick Barracks

EPC Contractor: BGIS

Capability: Fit Out & Refurbishment

Scope:
The Randwick Barracks Q Store Refurbishment involves upgrading of internal storage as well as miscellaneous external and internal works to the building including all associated works and commissioning.
Key Considerations:
  1. Ensuring Defence clearance for all personnel working on the project.
  2. Early engagement of sub-contractors.
  3. Early order of equipment, fencing & gates which is a long lead item over the Xmas and New Year period.
  4. Careful design and planning co-ordination with client and End User Group.
  5. High risk activities as works involve working from heights, providing scaffolding and ensuring harnesses are worn at all times.
  6. Delivering the project within the required timeline for end users.
  7. Achieving compliance with relevant Defence and Australian Standards.
  8. Potential to encounter hazardous materials, such as asbestos, lead base paint, etc.
  9. Ability to deliver the project efficiently in the current COVID-19 pandemic environment.
  10. Safe cite/defence interface while the Q-Store is still active.
