A proud Bundjalung man and former Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, Brendan has transitioned his focus from elite sport to empowering Indigenous youth through his work with organisations like Tribal Warrior.

As a founder, his commitment to community is the primary driver for BY Group’s Indigenous employment and subcontractor strategies.

As a proud Bundjalung man, Mark grew up deeply embedded in both the rich tapestry of Aboriginal culture and the hands-on world of the construction industry. 

Mark’s commitment to excellence, combined with a deep-seated respect for environmental and cultural sustainability, is a cornerstone of his leadership. This balance of heritage and professional expertise drives BY Group’s holistic approach to every project the firm delivers.

Beau is a proud Bundjalung man who co-founded BY Group with the vision of creating economic empowerment and addressing socio-economic disparities within Indigenous populations.

His primary driver is to foster self-sufficiency by building a construction company that strengthens the communities in which it operates.

Malcolm has 20 years’ experience in the development and construction industry delivering high quality projects. Before joining BY Group, he was a Director at a global property and construction company.

As Managing Director of BY Group, Malcolm has day-to-day involvement in the delivery of each project. He has a broad range of experience in all sectors and asset types of development and construction.

Before joining BY Group, John was a Senior Project Manager for a NSW State Transport Agency working on infrastructure, rail, station, and commercial projects. John has worked for more than 18 years in the construction industry.

John has previous experience at a global property provider working on commercial fit-outs and hotel projects. John is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has 12 years of project management experience in Australia.

George has over 30 years’ experience in the development and construction industries, having worked in numerous construction management and project directorship roles across a wide variety of sectors such as education, commercial, industrial, community, residential and government.

He is highly experienced in strategy development and directorship roles, and with oversight across the entire project lifecycle, he ensures that our clients receive continuity of service from inception to completion and post occupancy support.

With over 20 years of experience, Robert specialises in Modern Methods of Construction (MMoC), particularly prefabricated timber. He heads many of BY Group’s projects in the Pacific and has contributed to iconic Australian developments like Star City Casino and the Eastern Distributor.

By collaborating closely with consultants and suppliers, Robert ensures every project phase is practical, cost-effective and optimized to meet client goals.

Lyle has 14 years' in the construction industry. He started his career as a residential carpenter and progressed to a management position within a national construction company. He has extensive experience working on commercial, industrial, technology, and residential projects.

Lyle is a licensed Builder with proven experience in design management, cost planning, financial management, programming, and team leadership. Lyle has won 4 Master Builder awards on completed projects.

Hylton has 23 years of industry experience, with a focus on single and multi-dwelling residential, industrial, civil, commercial, and retail fit-outs.

Hylton began his career with a carpentry apprenticeship in Auckland, New Zealand, after which he then completed a Bachelor of Construction Management. He followed this qualification into site supervision, management and project management positions across multiple sectors before entering the Sydney construction industry in 2006.

Michael is a Chief Safety trainer in all things from site-specific induction training, forklift refresher, chain of responsibility in transport, to accredited first aid and HSR training.

His experience extends across many industries including 15 Years in defence, construction, transport and logistics, transportation of dangerous goods, driver training and security and risk management. With an extensive understanding of construction methodologies, Michael is able to actively manage quality through effective monitoring of internal processes on all BY Group sites.

As the Finance Manager at BY Group, Jackie is a results-oriented accounting professional with over 20 years of experience in process and project implementations. She is known for her accuracy and attention to detail, having improved business performance and minimised risk across a diverse range of industries.

Jackie supports BY Group’s longevity by managing capital, cost efficiency and reporting systems that enable data-driven decision-making.

As a highly experienced HR leader, Colleen has a proven track record of driving strategic HR initiatives across diverse sectors. Colleen consistently demonstrates her expertise in optimising workplace practices and fostering capability.
