Graduates arrive into an environment where our senior staff, (with over 20 years experience in the construction industry) are accessible mentors for graduates on an everyday basis. We focus on growing our own talent and provide our cadets with extensive training and mentoring.

Your BY Group Career Pathway

Your BY Group career pathway as depicted below, outlines the typical career progression within the construction team at BY Group. We recognise every individual is different and the speed of your progression is guided by the unique skill set you bring. Internal and external training opportunities will help you meet achievable milestones for advancement, guiding you to your next challenge.

  • Year 1-2

    Construction Cadet

    Cadets are provided with a broad construction management understanding and capability through applied project exposure while internal and external training opportunities will afford you with a further platform to expand professional development.

  • Year 2-3

    Junior Contract Administrator

    Working as part of a project deployed team, Graduates are exposed to all elements of the construction management process. Graduates are trained in procurement processes, subcontractor management and project reporting, applying their learnings to live projects.

  • Year 3-4

    Contract Administrator / Senior Contract Administrator

    Cadets are provided with a broad construction management understanding and capability through applied project exposure while internal and external training opportunities will afford you with a further platform to expand professional development.

  • Year 4-6

    Project Engineer / Project Manager

    Our Project Managers are proficient leaders and possess a detailed understanding of the construction management processes. Your intensive training to date, via the BY Group professional pathway, will prepare potential managers to lead the administration of a diverse range of projects. Ongoing mentoring and support from Senior Project Managers and senior operational staff will further develop programming, leadership and client management skills.
