BY Group was engaged to deliver pile cropping and detailed excavation works for the MA1 Data Centre at Maddington, WA.
Building on previous works completed within the precinct, BY Group managed the removal and handling of piling spoil, undertook pile cropping to achieve the required design levels and carried out detailed excavations for pile caps, ground beams, crane bases, lift pits and slabs. The team also facilitated the export of all excavation materials and constructed a dewatering basin to support the head contractor’s operations, while maintaining effective site-wide dust suppression controls.
Works were delivered within a highly active and congested construction environment, requiring careful planning and coordination with multiple contractors. BY Group implemented a structured approach to sequencing, including early wet cropping of shallow piles to reduce manual breaking during excavation and improve efficiency. Piling spoil was removed from constrained areas and stockpiled for controlled export, allowing excavation activities to progress smoothly. Through consistent coordination and structured execution, BY Group enabled timely access for follow-on trades and supported the overall construction programme.
