BY Group was engaged by the client to deliver a 30,000m² carpark at the LA1 Data Centre precinct to support high traffic volumes from existing operations and future development.
While not technically complex relative to BY Group’s broader portfolio, the project was a critical enabling work to ensure efficient site access, parking capacity and overall functionality of the data centre.
BY Group undertook the full scope of works, commencing with detailed surveying and set-out to optimise cut-to-fill balance and ensure long-term durability. This was followed by mobilisation and site establishment, including installation of temporary fencing to secure the work area.
Bulk earthworks were undertaken through cut and fill operations, with subgrade proof rolling completed to confirm ground conditions prior to pavement construction. Crushed rock was imported, placed, and compacted in accordance with VIC Roads specifications to form both the carpark and pedestrian footpaths.
Final works included line marking, installation of security gates, and preparation for handover. Through a practical and delivery-focused approach, BY Group successfully completed the works, enabling operational readiness of the LA1 Data Centre and supporting ongoing growth and functionality within the precinct.
